Keep Moving Forward…

Sorry Jill! I’m not trying to kill our favorite quote!

Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things… and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths

Felt appropriate as I close out this chapter in the book of life and move forward to the next. Changing jobs is never an easy thing to do. You leave behind the people you care about, professionally and some personally. I’ve made great friendships that I hope to carry on in my journey.

I won’t look backwards very long because you don’t win the race by looking back. New doors have opened for me. I owe so much to G-d, my family and all those who have mentored me along the way.

I’m the Chair for Houston’s largest marketing conference. Apart of some really good organizations that are and have helped me grow. As this new chapter begins, I hope to be an inspiration to my peers. A guide to those looking for more knowledge.  I used to think I had little to offer in that respect. But I’ve learned people don’t always know what I assumed they do and are seeking mentors as I once did.

To also quote another great movie, Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium, “Your life is an occasion rise to it”. And, “Be the block..” Hat tip to a great thought leader, Kelsey Ruger.

So here’s to moving forward and not looking backwards!

  1. PART 1 – Fantastic post, from the heart and spot on of what everyone in your shoes SHOULD be saying when closing one chapter and starting another! Most want to hold onto what they had as if it was never going to change, but things do change. Most think, I can't believe this is happening to me! Why me?! It is so hard at that very moment to have the intuition to believe what's right around the curve… that's the part where the word FAITH comes in.

  2. PART 2 – You MUST have faith that around the corner, whether that's tomorrow or one month from now, GOOD THINGS will happen. When you are traveling 65 miles around a tight corner in the mountains and you can't see far in front of you, you must have immense FAITH that the person driving in the other lane right next to you is NOT going to swerve into your lane and kill you! But, you make it. Same applies here, with starting a new chapter in Life. Do this now, take several deep breaths and say to yourself, It's gonna be just fine! The "Wo is me" factor in many people is exactly what leads them down a deep & dark path. But look UP! Smile! And think positive thoughts… I've made millions and lost millions… had many ups and many downs — if it's one thing I've learned during these times are these 4 short words, "THIS TOO SHALL PASS" You ARE an inspiration! You ARE appreciated! PS Love the layout of this blog too!

    • Thanks for stopping by Gary! Great meeting you at the luncheon and I hope to see you out more soon!

I appreciate the great comments! Faith is the one things that always keeps me going + a great, supporting wife & family and friends.

  3. I’ve told you time and time again, but you are awesome Sal. No looking back, unless it’s to remember the good times and all the smiles.
