Downtown Dallas - City That Sleeps - Sub(ghetto)way

After a great day filled with interesting sessions at the Webmaster Jam Session we decided to get some dinner. It was only 7 O’clock-ish when Aaron, Zaki and I headed down to the lobby of the less the impressive Adam’s Mark Hotel. To our surprise, everything in the hotel, including the restaurant was closed, and had been so for what looked like some time. So, we hoped in the car and drove…and drove a little more until we were outside of downtown in the outskirts of what seemingly looked like the projects.

We passed a few fast food joints and settled on Subway. Had an interesting encounter with some individuals who must think Britney Spears is a role-model, if you catch what I’m saying. Anyways, nothing bad happened or anything, it was just an interesting look inside the heart of downtown Dallas. As we were walking out this dude comes in with some DVDs and asks if we wanted some bootlegs. Now, this could be a totally separate entry, but I think it’s fair to say, that if you want something bootlegged, what’s the point in paying for it. That defeats the purpose of having a bootleg, you didn’t want to pay for it to begin with, and yet they still seek out bootlegs…to buy. And, on top of all that, they don’t even try to get good quality bootlegs. Nevertheless, this guy obviously didn’t feel the geek force emanating from our persons.
