All this talk about troop withdraw is all well and dandy, but what most American’s don’t realize is that this Presidential address is just a way to pacify all the liberals out there crying to bring the troops home.
There is no getting out of Iraq. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t even want the U.S. to be there. We should have never gone into Iraq. But the truth remains, the military is currently building 14 permanent bases. How does this support a withdraw?
5,700 coming home by Christmas? That’s awesome, what about the over 3,700 that lost their lives fighting for your lies, Mr. President. What happen to the days when a war was won by massive air strikes and then sending in the Marines and Army to clean up? Now this President sends in our troops to do the massive ground strikes. Again, don’t get me wrong, I don’t believe we should be there in the first place, but we’re there - let’s just do what needs to be done. Let Bush sleep with the guilt of the evils he has committed.
“America will not abandon our friends..” So, Mr. President, does that mean when Israel attacks Iran, if you don’t beat them to it, you, we the United States will support them? Or, will we be hypocrites and turn against Israel? I’m pretty sure I know the answer.
Still, with all this, you have not given any plan to end the war, Mr. President. All you’re doing is lowering the troop count to what it was just before your January troop surge, good job. You wasted the time of those troops you sent over there. You waste the time and lives of innocent Americans, Mr. President.
I wanted you to be a good leader. I didn’t want to believe what people said about you. But you have done nothing to keep my support. As an Army Reservist, I lost my faith in my leadership long ago, but as an American, you are making me loose faith in the country as a whole.
How about you go finish out your term by adding to all your already ridiculous amount of vacation days. Don’t leave Dick in charge, don’t leave Pelosi in charge, just leave. Let someone like Michael Savage step up and steer this boat for a little while. Speaking of boats, seems like all your rats are leaving your sinking ship. You will go down as the worst President in history, sleep well Mr. President. My G-d have mercy on you.

I agree with your view on the issue. The only time I am affiliated with any military, is when I’m alone watching Rambo on Tv. Said best by Gary Shandling ‘I’m a comedian, but in my spare time.. things bother me.’ The great nation of the United States has not had such corruption to this degree in the office and this has got to end. Starting a war on false pretenses alongside never ending conspiracies are making us look awful to the rest of the world. George Bush seems to take no responsibility for his actions, endangering not only our brave young soldiers, but everyone living in the US alone. Our affiliation with the middle east has never been quite perfect, but now they seem to have even more reasons to hate us.
This level of incompetence has motivated me to get involved, and at least vote. The republicans have a new sex/illegal scandal each week it seems now and the democrats seem to be pushovers on hard issues. At this time of need for our country, I am hoping our next leader is tough enough to clean up the mess this intolerable president bush has created. I’m looking forward to the days when our generation is older and we have people in political offices jamming snoop dogg and hard rock music. Perhaps then people in political positions will learn to calm down and cure their cases of rectal cranium inversion.
